Wah! Mine both are made in Thailand. Never knew they made D70s in Japan also.

Worry too much. The D70 assembly plant is in Thailand too, and probably D80 is from the same assembly line.

If this bothers you; get a black gaffer tape, mask out the "Made in Thailand" label, and shoot in peace.

The Beetle has parts made all over the world, eg Mexico, Spain, Malaysia etc. Does that means it's not as good as Japan cars?

Thai made cars also made to our shores and running all over. It's all about lowering maufacturing costs and made the selling price more attractive.

Do u want a situation whereby u wan a Japan made camera but balk at the costs of owning one or able to afford a made in Thailand but equally good cam and able to shoot pics?

I rest my case. Guess we are still dinosaurs in our perceptions and perspectives. My goodness.

Interesting. I bought mine from Comex on Thursday, noticed that camera body is MIT, while lens is MIJ. Then I had the shitty hot pixel problem, brought it back to Comex on Sunday (what a crowd!), and I checked the replacement set again. Still the same: body is MIT, lens is MIJ.

Always thought that the camera body is MIJ.....

Certain components of the CCD are made in M'sia, Taiwan besides Japan. Assemble in Japan. Send over to Thailand for installations in cameras.

Heck, it can be Made by Aliens from Planet Zeta.

If one has no idea on how to take photos, it can be Made by Heavenly Angels and God and it will still churn out crap photos.
