Response is as expected from a super tele. Not as fast as the 2.8 obviously, but pretty decent for a walkabout lens. The question though, is it worth the price

Anyway, I too made the move frm d700 . Hving use the d700 for many yrs, there's abit of getting use to the ergonomics initially. I was looking to switch to AF-S frm the default AF-A..haha..pretty nice tht the front AF/manual focus switch is dual use to cmd dial to each AF mode. I'm hv been out-dated haha.

Personally, the overall build feel of d700 somewhat is better then d750...but the light weight/smaller body of the d750 make up to it definitely. Notice the shutter is alot quieter also...another plus. Oh yah, anywhere I can get hotshoe cover, doesn't come w the package :-| .

the "other" brand does not have VR. it's very hard to get an all around lens for FX, most of the lens in the market with this reach are for DX

I bought it at Orient Photo at Sim Lim Square. However the top protector can't fit the top LCD but the rear LCD is perfect fit.
