your pics damn nice.. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

so the wide converter makes the lens view wider ? how much wider ?

sorry reali dun know about it:dunno:

thx , wide = 13.5 mm for dx ,,, = full frame 20.25

wow.. thats cool! where can i get the converter if its not available here in sg?

only from japan
hv to import from japan to sg

¥ 9800 jpy price for tat wide converter

found smth quite interesting, but not sure if everyone knows it so will share here

if you turn everything off, active D lighting, lens correction, high iso NR, Long exposure NR, and don't use the Hi ISo modes, coupled with a sandisk extreme (30mb/s) at JPEG fine, u can fire 100JPEGS non stop with no lag.

turn active D lighting on, and can onli go up to 40 plus before fps drop to around 1-2.

will it not damage the focus motor when using a converter??

its just like putting a magnifying glass in front of your lens....nothing to do with the focus motor...these type of convertor can convert ur lens wider or convert it to Macro lens, or telephoto...its cheaper to buy a convertor than to getting a new lens...

in fact..not neccessary to get Nikon brand...there are 3rd party converter around...like raynox....
can check out this site
http://www.mcgill.com.sg/shop/default.php?cPath=58

but than again..there are hard core fan die die swear by cannot use any 3rd party things on their cam...no offense to any of these fan..I am just providing another options...

but pls take note that a convertor will reduce your IQ....cos ur lens have to go thru another layer of glass...but to me..the pic looks nice to me..I am not a pixel peeper...

wow! that's cool! means my kit lens' 18mm will be like 13-14mm wide with this converter?? That's good stuff! But it lowers the IQ is it? From what I see from your photos, its still the same. can't see much of a difference, except that its wide of course..

There are also converters for macro right? Means this one is just for wide and cant be used for macro, do i get it correct? Sorry, a newbie in photography.

yep minumun 13.5 wide

marco?
u mean this?

this is marco never crop ^_^

i hear from some of my friends say a macro is jus better den a convertor as u will lose out a lot of information on this...though it does save up much on getting a marco lens...but this is def a great item to widen our shooting angle...:)

actually its personal perference lor.....to me if I brought a macro lens which is more exp than the convertor...I will def say the macro lens is better...or else how can I forgive myself for spending so much money and yet the IQ is better only :bsmilie:

there are 0.45x wide angle convertor which will reduce lets say our 18-55mm to 8-24mm(think will get some vig at 8mm) ....1.5x teleconvertor which will telezoom your 18-55mm to 27-82mm......or even a 2x teleconvertor which will double up to 36-110mm

I am not those serious pixel peeper...this corner got noise..that corner got distortation....even if there are...how offen do I peep into every pic I took unless I am a professional photography which a really good pic is my bread and butter...I would say lets just enjoy the hobby. brush up the skills first before anything.....;p

P.S. I dun own any macro convertor or macro lens and I am still choosing between the 2 (a 105mm macro lens is really exp lor:embrass:....just speaking my mind thats all lor, if I have offended any bro here, which is not my intention to spark off any arguement, just a friendly discussion ....botton line is we just have to agree to disagree :sticktong
