Nikon D5000 come on in

hey..just wanna check out.....has anyone use Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS lens on the D5000?? how is the pic quality?... initially I wanted to get nikon 18-200mm...
the price diff is 799(sigma) vs 1050(nikon)...so was thinking of "downgrade" to 3rd party lens....

sigma focusing not as fast as nikon, bit of noise and pic quality is soft...

im using the nikon ir remote for d5000. good for star photography, self shots, and bulbing..

im using a remote that suits d90, i forgotten wats the model le. its not IR but cable type. good for nite shots.

My husband is planning to buy a D5000 with 18-105mm lens next week (too expensive if upgrade to 18-200mm), so we were thinking of getting a 2nd hand 55-200mm lens and few accessories maybe. Can anyone help us? Thanks.

I checked with John 3:16 replied to me that D5000 w 18-105mm lens is at $1180. Can you confirm on this, because when I enquire to Orient Photo, they told me 18-55mm lens is $1170. Abit confused with the pricing. Did you also get remote control? If yes, how much?

hi I just bought my kit on 23rd august from John 3:16 at $1180. only came with 8 gb card and a bag.

still learning =)

btw jus tried to upload pics to my laptop on low batt via USB cable (when shutter can't be released that time).... my laptop couldn't detect.

Is that supposed to be the case?

I checked out at John last week. You may have been mistaken. I think the D5000 with 18-55 goes for $1160. D5000 with 18-105 will go for $1480.
