You still can get original batteries from Fujifilm service centre @ SGD65.
There is no issue for servicing but it is more expensive than nikon.

My humble opinion:
DX format is the only disadvantage for S5Pro. Wide angle shooter that afford FX lens likes 24f1.4G, 24 PC-E, 24-70, 14-24, 14 2.8, 20 f2.8, 24 f2.8, 16FE....will need a FX camera for these lens and have to sacrify S5Pro(Unless he carries 2 cameras).
Come on, we need a FX S6Pro!!
Anyway D200 is already a very good camera.

moved from S5pro to D700, regretted not keeping it as spare....
somehow i think the S5 colours still nicer than D700.... especially auto white balance control...

S5pro is a nice camera, but IMHO it is not in the same league as a D300, let alone D700. I will gladly exchange an S5pro for a D300 anytime. Like others, I've also moved on (now using D700) and I do not miss the S5 at all (maybe I'm not the nostalgic type) :)

This means that colour is less important to you. Nothing to do with nostalgia, as S5 Pro started production only a few years ago.

Wonder why you have to choose between these 2 cams. If you can get an S5pro at a good price, OK. But the S5 is already 4 years old. Technology has moved on and there are other DSLRs that are as good if not better in many areas (eg D5000). As Fuji no longer makes DSLRs, repair and maintenance could be an issue.

You wonder because you never used one before right?

I used a S2pro before, and even that old piece of junk produces amazing colors. Very film-like too, with rounded curves before it clips. It will take a lot of effort to clip the pictures badly beyond repair.

Yeah. But the menu... damnit. the damned menu is really a PITA. Even the S5 stuck with that weirdo numbering system.

And why couldn't Fujifilm make it accept Nikon batteries?!!!!!

If they fixed the 2 problems above I'd have added the S5 to my bag.

Love my S5pro. Highly recomeneded!

But if I where in your shoes, I would seriously consider a used D300. I mean, we are talking about beating D2x here at a couple hundred dollars more.... have to say my s5pro have been neglected after getting my D300:cry:

.......... otherwise, S5pro

I'd go for the S5Pro if I gotta choose between the 2 ... at one stage me really yearned for one :)
