Abosolutely agree that the LCD is kinda small man.

But as for the noise....acceptable lar.....unless.....you wanna take "stealth" shots?!?!?! ;)

$1500 with GST...:what:

My advice is get back Nikon flashes. Somehow the Metz will fire off together with the internal flash when you snap.

The SB-80DX looks nice with the CP5700.

The SB-80DX looks nice with the CP5700
but ex my brudder (unless got spare cash)
then hor 5700 can't untilise the function of the SB-80.
unless sb-80dx is used for Nikon DSLR or SLR if i invest in one in the near future.(but.... perharps might revert back to canon)
:p

tangoninazero :kok: espn

Never die before ah, going back to Canon... the SB-80DX is the flash that Nikon produced for the DSLR/SLR series. There won't be a flash that the CoolPix that can be used fully with the flashes. So that's life.

This place on ground floor of Peninsula Plaza called New World Camera or something. But think they quoted this price by "mistake" - may bot get this price again.

But I think karma at work lar - today (exactly 1 month) I think the s/w go bongkus already!! :(

The flash indicator (SB indicator) keeps flashing and refuses to take the shot unless I turn off the flash. Manual says the flash is charging...But if I set to delayed macro shot the flash fires off...anyways...cannot be charging from afternoon till I got home right?!?!?! :rbounce:

Bo Bian - think I suay - must bring back to Shiriro House...very leceh....Good luck with your purchase!

Wa lao... you really suay... maybe that's because they give you at $1500 w/GST. Anyway my lowest quote is $1520 with GST with AP and Cathay quoted $1550 with GST. Think I better think twice cos will be getting 2 sets with my friend.

Hey anyone can confirm got similar problems??? Is it because of Nikon CP5700 or just Nutcase' unlucky plight?

BTW - called up their Helpdesk support. They told me to bring the camera in. Apparently, they have encountered several of such cases already :(

That's really sad my friend... feel so sorry for you. Why Nikon make good film cameras but when it comes to digital, they lack of the QC??? Actually if you should follow the CP5700 threads here, you will see a lot of discussion on the CP5700's problems, but not much for the 7HI... sigh... to think I sold my 7HI earlier in hope to own a D100 but then still find the price too steep thus thinking of getting a CP5700 as a interim cos can't do without a digital nowadays. Sigh...

Dunno if I can ask this here abt 5700
Shoot anyway

Juz loaded Nikon capture 3 (trial) but the Camera Control dun seems to work leh.

During installation on XP there is a warning that my service packs are newer and it abort some portions of the installation.

However it can download pics and viewer/editor seems installed correctly.

What have I not done right here? Anyone tried capture 3 wif 5700 b4

Thanks in advance

Hey all,
Anyone knows what are the current prices for the 5700 and the MB-E5700? Looking through the thread, it seems 1500 is the psych barrier; has it gone down since June? and if so, where is the cheapest? Am trying to make a purchase in the next couple of days.

Thanks. :)

charvy might sell to it you if u get everything from him....

hmmm the 5700 seems to focus much faster when the lens is set to infinity (using the landscape mode), correct me if i am wrong. :bsmilie:

Well, in any camera, it is always difficult and longer to focus on single or small spaces. with a landscape mode, you are effectively telling the programing that i want everything clear and sharp, hence there is no need for the programming to go through additional instructions... just a theory :)

Thanks for the theory
theres always so much new things to learn.

One question for the 5700 user, can the slik splint pro GM support the weight of 5700 + batt pack + SB-80DX and WA configuration.
cuz intend to change to a light weight and efficient tripod. or any advise by fellow users
Thanx ;)

The setup will be about 2K if I'm not wrong, your ballhead must be able to support at least 4.5KG then. Because at portrait, the weight + gravity is near 2x the weight of the setup.

The tripod should be able to support.

Without adding on the WA, the sprint pro's legs will already be slightly bent beneath the weight. And you will definitely need to use your remote or timer else it defeats the purpose of using a tripod (cos it isn't steady enough). Some more, cannot take in portrait more.

I know cos I sold off my Sprint Pro to meng even though I love it's weight and length.

One more thing, you have to tighten the ballhead really tightly, too tightly to my liking in fact. I feel that it just isn't able to handle the stress.
Go down to CP and ask "Wang Sa" & "Ye Feng" for advice. They will gladly let you try your setup and offer their professional opinion.
