The Canon has an equivalent 24mm with a large aperture, and so does the Leica. But the Leica has a 21mm f/1.4 also.

for nikon only lenses, the nikon 35mm f1.4 afd 28mm f1.4 are alternative wide and fast lenses, but not as wide as the current 24mm lor. for industrial uses , there might be faster TV nikkor lenses.

Yep, the 28mm f1.4 was once a lens that many people lust to get. The 35mm f1.4 AI-S is a really good lens but long due for Nikon to update it. Perhaps I am too cheap to buy the 24mm f1.4 or probably the new 35mm f1.4 (rumor) which does not really justify paying so much to own one (for amateurs like me). :angel:

I think all new DSLR come with video function, the f1.4 really usefull.

No issues. I read some thread where the guy also ranted about the 70-200mm. I have no issues with the 70-200mm lens either.

Choose the one that you like most. CPL is the type of filter that you only put on when you need it. Get a slim one is better if you are going to use the 24/1.4 on FX.
