Same here, AF-S 17-35 F2.8 also

a 17-55 is no go for me...

my main glass is till 17-35..

some tell me... "aiyah.. 17-35 dun justify the cost... its way to ex"

but i tell u. 17-35 is one great lens to have. never regretted since day 1.

but if 17-55 is what u want. go ahead and buy it. but remember to test the lens, and make sure the lens is performing.

and btw, size does not matter..... its the quality that counts, and its the photographer behind the camera that matters.. ;)

Let the buyer decide what he/she want lah.

I'm currently using my 17-35 on a 5d...(with an adapter of course)... something that can't be done with the G lenses...

That's good if you have the Canon DSLR FF body. Seen and read the reviews on 5D not bad. But me stick with the system I have, too expensive and troublesome to switch.

So those on FF must be having a time with their wides, huh? any pictures to see?

I forgot to mention, when using 17-35 on a Canon 5D with an adapter, you'll have

1. No auto focus &
2. No camera controlled aperature.

for everyday use, you are going to wish you had a compatible lens system.

My vote goes to 17-55DX. A killer lens!

The lens will stay with you for a long time!

i do know a few of my friends who use the Nikon 17-35 on their Canon system.
me inclusive.

it is really a fantastic lens.
the colours, contrast, sharpness is really different from the Nikon 17-55 DX

Both are different and has its place in your Billingham.

But I guess the quote below speaks for itself!

I use it everyday without a complaint.
well, perhaps it's because i'm still using the good old AISs on my 2h/x bodies...

and AF on a wide? gone were the days of scale focusing i guess.... :sweatsm:

i hope most of u will agree with me on this...

stop thinking. get what u like..... dun think anymore....

stop thinking. it doesnt matter on what lens u get anyway.

its you who is paying, its you who will be shooting with it....

so if u like the 17-55mm, go get it !! dun wait anymore..... if u dun like the lens, resell it, cos still have warranty..... ;)

Anyone knows the comparison between the new tamron 17-50 f2.8 vs this lens?

As usual, 3rd party lens is always 1/3 price of nikkor...

Cheers...
