I have noticed that there is a Nikon 90th. Anniversary commercial being shown in TV nowadays with Kenny Rogers' Through The Years playing in the background. Somehow, this music captivated me. Just thought that I share this piece of song with the rest of the people here.
Here's wishing Nikon more good years to come.

Thanks so much for posting this video I love it too. Glad you posted the lyrics. Great song. In fact I posted under the Nikon D80 website because I loved another commercial video on YOU TUBE too. It was developed for Remembrance Day. Its beautiful too. It's kids frolicking on a farm field enjoying a lovely autumn day.Enjoying their freedom. Nikon has a knack at their media campaigns and their products are top notch. In the last 90 years Nikon has made great cameras and commercials. Have a look.

Its like a I WANT IT NOW!!! product. Canon really get a taste of it now...
It feels like Nikon is reaching for the old people with the choice of song.

It's selected because it to wanted show & let ppl knows that this name this brand have never been given up or forsaken.
I dun think it is any special outer space camera. I think nikon cameras are just good enough for outer space.
I remember seeing one photo long time ago showing an astronaut in his shuttle or satellite and you can see numerous Nikon cameras around. Look like our usual ones to me.

They needed to replace the grease inside with NASA approved ones.

Both these types of commercials tug at your heart strings. So is that the marketing tactic works? Hmmm....what do you think????? I know I don't mind watching these types of commercials over and over again. companies choose marketing strategies according to their overall mission and beliefs.
there are various methods, all of which attain one outcome - sales.
but the company who can not only sell and gain loyalty from their customers are the ones who stand out more. for this you'd have to delve deeper into their company culture and such. some companies will rely on logic to sell their products, some will rely on emotions of the customer. all advertisements will have these. its just a matter of their ratio.

at first, comparing to canon's TVC with nikon's, i thought canon's was better in terms of the catchy tunes and lively fun captures. but after watching the full length nikon video, think i like the nikon's better now
seems more meaningful showing the companionship through the years as we grow with nikon...

It sure works on me, I used to be very much into photography 15yrs ago, had several SLR bodys including the FM2, FE2 and F501 (yes!! the world first AF SLR) had them forgotten and left in the dry cabinet in my study rooms for ages.
When I saw the 90th aniversary video of Chen Chuan Zhi with his nikon, in the dusty town and taking photo, it reminds me of my younger days with my Nikons where I would back pack to some third world country and even have special photography trips with my photo buddys where we would rent a jeep and a guide and off we go with no real destination in mind..... those were the days man......
After that nostaglic video, I dust off my dry cabinet and reach for my SLR, nikons are truly nikons, they still works and shutter release are just as crisps
... but gone are the days for manual SLR,... to catch up with lost years, I bought a D200 + 3 primes lens + 2 zoom + Flashes and others in a span of 2weeks :bigeyes:...... so I guess the video really works on me...wahahhahahahah:sweatsm:After that nostaglic video, I dust off my dry cabinet and reach for my SLR, nikons are truly nikons, they still works and shutter release are just as crisps
