Nikon 8mm vs Peleng 8mm questions

yes, can't focus at infinity without optic
and probably losing some light ^_^
but probably we can still find good lens for potrait and macro at bargain

for now F-mount is still good with the ZF lenses around
btw about the metal sticking part, i think there is.. but i'm not sure
i already returned the borrowed kogaku 8mm. the 8mm was a bit old that have a little mount compability issue which make me limit myself to mount it only on my old D70s rather than on my D200.

My peleng is direct f mount.
Very good lens imo, never need to think about the focusing. Simply set aperture to shoot only.

*Everything in focus(30cm and beyond) once when put focus ring from 1.5- to infinity.

i'm not sure whether the peleng that will come is M42 with F-mount adapter or direct F-mount.
i guess any of them is ok for me ^_^;

what software you use for defish the image?
so far my best experience is with NX distorsion correction

Edge not sharp at wide open, centre is not too bad, f/5.6 above is quite ok, to gain edge sharpness f/16.

i've been thinking about raynox FE,
raynox FE cost almost the cost of peleng, since it's not a lens i guess it will have poorer resale value. And i think it is too heavy to be attached in front of my lens ^_^

hmm.. i hope at f/5.6 would be sharp enough for me .. cause f/16 is too small for bounced flash @_@

and have to tell you that i'm quite satisfied with it
especially on it's size vs IQ
seems the best compact FE 8mm for nikon mount so far.. the nikon one is BIG!

now thinking about buying helios-44 M42 for potraiture

no no the most compact is the sigma 8mm.. smaller, lighter and don't have idiosyncratic cap of the peleng :bsmilie::bsmilie:

i forgot about sigma 8mm
i prefer peleng's cap rather than nikon 8mm screw-in cap .. took too much time to detach & attach the cap @_@

btw can anyone share their methods of defishing peleng in nikon?
i use NX but not satisfied with the result, and DXO doesn't have 8mm module for nikon ^_^;
