Nikon 70-200mm f4 G VRIII Next week ;)

If your FF DSLR is good in high ISO performance, why do u still need a F2.8 lens ?

The only reason I can think of is shallower DOF. Other than that, I couldn't think of any other reason.

:)

Whatever the case is, f/2.8 will always give you a 1 stop advantage given everything else is equal. To some, that's a big deal.

The existence of this lens is tempting me to go back to FF DSLR.

how abt some reviews if u guyz have manage to get the lense...

i'm still waitin for mine, hopefully the store will get it this week...cos my girl has her 1st violin performance this sunday and i dun hv a tele to shoot from down stage...

Thanks for you comments jnet.
My intentions using this lens is for portraits, street shooting and some events. My budget is $1800 max. I couldn't pay at one time so planning to usr CC instalment plan.
If I take 80-200mm f2f.8, there will be no VR system, right? Would there be any issue?

For me, VR is a must for longer range ... me old man liao so hands not steady enough ;p

Just a suggestion ... go rent the 80-200 f2.8, shoot the hell out of it and see whether it suits you. I don't think the f4 is out for rental as yet cos quite new.

Ya, I saw and also in flikre too. But all of them are taken with FF (D800), so not sure how it will turn out with DX format.

But tested with D800 36MP FF if it's good, then should be the same or better on DX ?

:)

Any bros interested may drop by the nikon showroom at Anson road to test it out? I was there ytd and the guy was real nice to get me to try the lens out on the spot...

New VRll and lighter weight, will this lens have the same results shooting low light like the F2.8.

You should if you want very good FF picture. Else you can stick to DX.

vr III if i'm correct :P

probably as the f2.8 is well...a slight advantage...

i cant post links yet but there some user impressions/sample pics in fredmiranda.com. also comparisons with the 70-200VR2
