Nikon 35mm f1.8 lens!

My friend just bought his at Alan Photo today .. seems that its an export set. For those who managed to get their are they export set or warranty by Nikon Singapore?

Export sets are also known as grey sets (correct me if I'm wrong), so it won't have any Nikon sg warranty with it. However if you purchase from some shops, they do offer warranty by their own shop, so any problem can go back to them.

juz check the warranty card....it's all written there.

Alan photo is one of the distributor for Nikon in Singapore.

Very unlikely for them to sell grey sets...

on a DX body ... which one is more recommended?
1) 35mm f1.8
2) 50mm f1.4G ?

I understand that it all boils down to what you are shooting ... but what if i doesn't want to own too many prime, just one will do ... which one will you guys recommend?

I bought 35 f1.8G. It values from money. If you use DX, 50 will come 75mm and it's suitable for streetlife/indoor portraits.
By the way, I had a chance to buy at Nikon Viet Nam, which offered me 300 SGD with 15 months international warranty.

Alan Photo quoted me $328 for 35mm f1.8 but upon inspection, i realised its an EXPORT SET so buyers beware

got it at $335w/ GST @ Orient Photo (Local Set)
