Sorry to kinda hijack the thread, but I feel that the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 would also be quite good for TS. Although the 35mm f1.8 is around half the price of the 17-50 f2.8, the 17-50 is more flexible in a sense? ...unless TS already has a fast walkaround lens already, and that TS is also willing to take a lens with a smaller aperture (f2.8 vs f1.8).
Also, i don't think 35mm is wide enough for Churches? In that case, 17mm should be better?
