I just bought the 18-35mm and shoot some fuji sensia at botanical garden. the lens great.

what they mean by slow lens? ,technical I know. but who going to shoot lanscape and f2.8 (17-35mm) and f3.5(18-35mm)??
I will use f16 with tripod mounted.

f2.8 is good indoor shoot like group potrait or street photography.
Enjoy your new lens and take more pictures...don't worry with people comments about the distortion and etc, as long as it serving your purpose, you made right decision.
