Nikkor is the actual brand name for Nikon lenses.
Nikon is the name used for the camera bodies, speedlights, accesories etc.
Interesting historical tidbit:
When Nikon wanted to introduce a new series of budget manual focus lenses for the masses, they refused to use the Nikkor brand name on these lenses to maintain the distinction (kinda of like the L lens of Canon). So the new lenses are known as the Nikon Series E (E for Economical), and not as Nikkor lenses. Of course, nowadays, all of Nikon lenses go under the Nikkor name.
