#1, and #2 are not HDRs, the lighting is good and the dynamic range isn't too far apart, so even GND is not required.
#1 is mainly cropped to 16:9, and curve/channel mixing (to bring out colors) and usm. not much done here. this is why i love good light, nothing much needs to be done.
for #4, this is very tricky, and i would not try to mislead you into thinking that minimal PP was done. this took quite a while, hence i posted it later. other than hdr (and subsequent standard workflow in photoshop cs2 to taste), and urban acid, i wasn't happy with the resultant lighting distribution. the sky was still relatively washed out, so i used layering (sky gamma is lowered) to selectively bring out the cloud detail there. cheers.
