Too bad I'm a noob at websites lol.
Night86mare: Do you PS most of your photos? Some of them have really rich colors.. BTW i am not a photographer. Don't even have a DSLR.
hi rubedo,
it depends, i try to touch up minimally, usually most pictures are just slight cropping due to imperfect viewfinder coverage, and then some curves adjustment and unsharp mask.
for example, the last picture posted just had that done, the color in the sky very nice even without cpl, so no need to touch up much. most of my cat photos also like that, with the occasional color tweaking to bring out certain mood, etc.
some photos, especially the sunset ones will have more touch up done, because of dynamic range limitations. like i always feel, touch up is nothing wrong, so long as it adds positively, and does not seem overdone. after all, photography is the expression of artistic vision.
oh! you don't need to have a dslr to be a photographer, actually, i know a few people with just handphone cameras, not even p&s , that can put dslr users to shame.. equipment allows more freedom of expression , that's for sure, but it isn't everything.
and of course, anyone can appreciate photographs, whether you have technical knowledge or know-how or not. no?
