thanks - those black little dots are tourists, the stones are huge, but i had a wide angle lens

which is actually a sore point, i should have brought my 35-80 or 50 at the least along, or maybe my kit lens.. but i was lazy and got up late.. so only had my 10-20. the distance at which you are allowed to view the stones is quite depressing. sure, i've seen it in real life now, but i think some documentaries get closer than that. :(

can't blame them though, the audioguide claimed that many people in earlier times used to rush to the area with a hammer and chisel to take some souveneirs. i have no doubt that, with the proliferation of e-commerce today, similar would happen if they let everyone go up close.. certainly some tourists would want to make the most of their entry fee. :bsmilie:

:bsmilie: yes i know, i know. was there 2 years back. still i say it's a great picture. :)

the wide angle perspective works well here, and the "little" tourists give stonehenge a nice sense of scale. what i found slightly distracting is the object(?) at the bottom right third of the pic.
