Night settings for FZ5?

or if you can find smth stable to mount your camera on (say a low wall, railings etc. if you don't have a tripod), just switch it to night portrait mode w/o opening the flash. or even night scenery. just make sure your subject stays still.

actually i hope to take a quick snap of the person without the person even knowing but now i know is not a very possible idea without the image being blurry.

i took many many during daytime.
FZ5 focusing is fast and good...

i know it has fast focus but at night,need to held the camera damn steady so as to avoid disappointment when reviewing the picture.
