This is my second pieces:bsmilie:

Don't mind me saying.
How come all your colours/WB are off?

Did you use any special effects on Photoshop?
If not, check your WB on your cam.

Merlion "pretty in pink"? :o
The picture looks unnatural. Although this can be a desirable effect / intention but I guess you want to start with a natural look first. If you have taken the image in jpg then it might be difficult to correct the WB. Read up your camera manual how you can adjust the WB, which presets are there and how you can manually set the correct WB. Gray cards / White cards only cost a few bucks. It is challenging during this time of the day, I admit.

Ok , The picture taken is Raw, converted into tiff files by image data converter. Have no choice but to do it in this ways. As for the visual effect it was in photoshop. The WB are auto during shooting ISO 100

Maybe you let go of Photoshop first. Try using the software provided with your Sony camera. That's enough to do simple adjustments for WB, exposure and other details. Shooting RAW is a good idea. Get the basics right before you embark on Photoshop :)

hi another post with photoshop adjustment merlion lion in green light;)

mind if i asked whats is your workflow in photoshop?

seems like all your pictures have a certain colour cast on it..

Yes, It was done in the color curve and the RGB with brightness , with some special effects color mixers.adjusting the light by the WB curve as well.:)

Colours look weird to me.

If you said it's shot in RAW. Changing the WB is not a problem.

My monitor is also calibrated but your pics do not look normal.

will post another copy with changes to the WB just to justified my picture was shot in Raw:dunno:

I' ve learn from guru never shot in jpeg if you want to PP. From day one until now none of my photo was shot in jpeg.Even if it ;pcost my hard disc space.

Eh, sorry for asking. Which guru said that jpeg cannot be used for PP? :dunno:

There's many photos posted were shot in jpeg and still achieved better results. So how do you justify that?

Not trying to pick on you but, you are not justifing what you had said.

Yes, u r right , I have use the wrong emphasis should be ideally shot in Raw than jpeg. Anyways is my WB off or not shoot in Raw?:D C:bsmilie:Could u kindly advise from the look.

my god..this picture just screams "post processed"
you used photoshop to bump up your highlights too much. There are burn spots in the river because of that, not to mention the lights. Also, your buildings, some of them got a halo effect. Really oversaturated here.

Overall looks really fake.

Word of advice. Don't post process. As far as you know, photoshop doesn't exist...try getting the perfect shot with your camera only.
Post processing should usually be restricted to a little...LITTLE..change in brightness contrast...minor spot correction if required. Everything else can be done with the camera.

What are you training to become...photographer or digital artist?
If its the former, work more on your composition skills.

For this picture, in my view at least, you could have kept your shutter speed at 2 seconds or higher, adjsut the aperture accordingly..should come between f/8 to f/16.
Then just shoot...

I personally never believed in the rule of third, I find it dull at times, but as a beginner, try following the rules. Once you know how to use them, then you can break them.

Right now I look at this picture and I don't know the subject...do you want to show us the merlion? or the buildings? or the sky?

And I was reading the previous commments. I agree with octarine here. If you can't answer certain questions about your own photographer, then you are just another layman with a camera. People here post at clubsnap to show off their pics, and to learn at the same time. Answering questions pertaining to your photos is part of the learning process.
Of course, sometimes you click just for the sake of taking a picture.
Its alright though..you understand and you continue ahead. Thats how photography is.

Play around with the angles, realize how to look at the world through the viewfinder. And then just click!
Hoping to see better pictures from you soon.

technically you should always shoot in jpeg and keep the "raw" shooting for specific shots only...selected shots where you know beforehand that you need to do some post processing.

[/IMG] this picture acceptable to u
much better in terms of color. More appealing to the eye.
But I see some noise...you used a high ISO setting for this pic didn't you?
Next time try a low ISO, 100 is the best, lower the shutter speed to 3 seconds or more..adjust the aperture accordingly. You will get the same color effects with a much clearer and sharper image.

Also, the longer your shutter speed, usually anything more than 5 seconds, will convert the water into a completely smooth surface. Right now I do see ripples in some areas.

random shoot on the path of going
