Nicefoto n-flash Strobe

Hi, went out and bought a proprietary pocket wizard sync cable from Cathay Photo. It only improved marginally, as in, the black line is now less at 1/200s. So if the bottom part of the pciture can be cropped, theoretically, it works. Scoured the net and stumbled upon a better work-around. I used my SB-600 which has high-speed sync (or Auto FP in Nikon terms) capabilities to point at the slave sensor on the strobe. It worked beautifully in-doors. I can go up to 1/2000s and there are no black lines. Only thing to do is to try it outdoors under the bright sun to see if it still works. There is also the FP mode on the strobe which maybe could work, but it offers lower flexibility as the minimum sync speed is 1/2000s. Hope this is useful to others.

Hi cubnap,
I think NFlash does not have optical slave, so your SB600 might not be triggering the strobe, but instead, your SB600 is lighting up your entire scene. Can you kindly confirm that?

FP mode is basically setting ultra short flash duration for the strobe. In a very dark room, your flash duration is your shutter speed, and you can use FP mode on the strobe to do shots like freezing water droplets etc.

Hi.. actually nFlash has a very special development. The very first batch I sell with Slave mode and subsequently they took out the function in their newer generation. The latest version that they are producing now put back the optical slave mode there. Anyway it suitable for hobbyist that not particular in lighting and built quality. For China portable strobe I still recommend Cononmk.

hi guys, any idea if this flash is capable of high speed sync or can it work with flextt5 at hyper sync?

If you need hyper sync, try Cononmk ak4.0. Original specs can sync unto 1/8000sec.

For hyper sync, most strobe are OK. Recently tested a cheap hyper sync trigger set (below $80) with rimelite, elinchrom & j flash, unfortunately not consistent when push above 1/500sec otherwise its really a best buy.
