Think I read about it somewhere, the rational is that if you use a blower, the dust will just dislodge from the CCD and likely lie somewhere inside the camera and potentially fall back onto the CCD. A vacum clearner may have a better chance of getting it out of camera totally. But well, don't think i'll try a vacuum cleaner yet. :bsmilie:

How about using blower and vacuum cleaner at the same time? I.e., put the vacuum cleaner with tube extension at max power near the opening, and insert the blower to blow the dust.

I wonder if anything from the camera itself would dislodge?

Palm tree leaves hahaha... I shoot at f 30 something liao, if i've shot wide open, the leaves will just look like green discoloration hahaha...

Anyway, the small aperture made the dust so obvious...

Hahah, I don't baby my equipment one mah.. The scratches on the 7D's from my belt and bags when I side sling my camera.

Actually never notice the dust until I did that moon shot using super tiny aperture...

Oh well, time to go buy a blower.

hey, same here. my grip is full of scratches from my no.3's belt.
 

Hiee So far......i have done two cleaning cycles myself already.....used chopsticks and microfibre cloth from kodak (for lens cleaning)

I'm trying to check out the proshop here in denver....to see if they have dedicated DSLR ccd cleaning kits here....if have and cheap maybe get some...back...

cleaned once with blower. think need to clean it again soon.
