My guess is D800 because Nikon cannot sell D700 or D300s in Japan now, so there should be a replacement that can compliant with the new Japan safety law for this group of interested users.

Doubt for D7000 upgrade while there are some older bodies need to be refreshed (D700 and D300s)

D800 - 4/6 fps. 36 mpx.

My guess is that the D800 will unify the studio & megapixel hungry crowd first but a next model similar to a D700-type camera (convenience of normal pixel count but high speed of flagship but cut cost) will surface. This market is too huge to ignore.

Just think of D800 as a D3X + D700 merger just as 1DX is a 1Ds & 1D merger.

Let's call it... D800H for now.

They will be big announcement. I trust nikonrumors for that. The only sad thing is, the ISO performance had been rumored to work like D3x, not D700... Which means it's not going to be so usable for me....

I'm already leaning towards getting a D700. Will wait for the announcement in 2 days.
