of course Canon need to do smthing to counter Pentax-Kx and SonyA500 ... if they wait few more month , thy commit suicide in entry lvl market... nikon ll do smthing soon... interesting year for Dslr war
i really wonder how their 60D will be like
if they made it better than the 7D, they'll just be kicking themselves in the ass
if they made it worst than the 550D, they will also be kicking their own butt
above all these
they have to price the 60D correctly too
their marketing department will get headaches for sure
Nikon has one-upped Canon again. :thumbsup:After all the waiting, Canon released a toy and a day later, boom boom, Nikon introduced 2 giants in their lens line up.
Nikon has one-upped Canon again.
Agree...their latest three f2.8 zooms (notably the 14-24 and 24-70) totally pawns Canon's equivalents.Actually, looking at it from another angle, Canon has been sitting on Nikon's head for a long time when the 24L Mk2 and the 17-40 has been released for a long....long time.
For lenses wise(especially primes) I believe Nikon are still playing catchup in many areas(17mm Tilt & Shift, 70-200/4, 85/1.2, 35/1.4 to name a few). But I cant say the same for their 2.8 zooms, which are excellent to say the least.

Strongpoint of Canon's lineup is mainly in their primes. But of late, Nikon has lots of impressive releases

A refreshed 85/1.4 (AF-S?) and a 35/1.4 would be a likelihood in the future for Nikon's lens lineup - they are pushing quite aggressively on this front. Don't think a 85/1.2 would be feasible due to the mount size. :think:The interesting period would be when Nikon finally introduces their 85/1.4 AFS and a 35/1.4 AFS alongside the D700 replacment.
I would then, make my decision to buy into a brand.( Got access to almost everything both brands offer now, safe to say sticking with Canon until I see those 2 lenses come out, besides, I still love the 5D and cheap Canon consumer primes.)
With 550D creeping closer to 7D, I wonder what will 60D specifications be...
And where is 1500D/2000D? With 450D announced discontinued, 1000D is the only DSLR left using Digic III, along with some entry PnS.
Based on previous release, they always announce XXD first, then XXXD.I hope I'm not too 'pessimistic' but Canon might just stop XXD at 50D..![]()
We should expect Digic V cameras very soon. Possibily with 60D and then 1Ds IV.With 550D creeping closer to 7D, I wonder what will 60D specifications be...

if they decide to release 60D now i vow not to buy canon products again... basket, what is the use of releasing such a close model to 7D then yet priced lower than 7D? then what remains for the current 7D users like myself?
