Saw the demo when it was released to the media. It is an interesting camcorder. Not sure about real world performance though. The dynamic range seems promising but then again prototype product may differ from actual production piece.

heheheh, with everyone happy with the combo of AVCHD/H.264 recording and interchangeable lenses, who would wanna use Scarlet or Alexa, etc...

I doubt there will be demand here for high end video stuff...nobody appreciates good technical quality, or rather, no one have the budget for it. :dunno:

scarlet is deffinately worth the wait
the interchangable lens version with all the necessary gadgets will probably range around usd$7000.w/o lens (hate to sound like a red fan boy)

alexa is a little higher budget and abit out league with the rest of cams discussed,maybe rental houses will pick it up

scarlet is definitely worth the wait..as for the alexa...one of the rental houses got it already, together with a cinedeck. =D

And back to the topic..the NEX VG-10...saw it at Cathay Photo, apparently they sold 2 units already, SRP $2999 i think.

saw one in best denki vivocity just now. $2999 with a bundled 18-200
I wonder what is the difference between this one and the CX550,
since the cx550 also selling around 2899.

cx550 has a very good review of low light capabilities and image stabilisation, I wonder if NEX VG10 is much better.

any bros have a hands on already?

i tried the VG10 alr. Cathay sold some units last week. Pretty interesting. I placed a few clips on the timeline and didnt have problems.
