Err... No way to tell the difference in shots taken with or without peaking, bro. And we have existing NEX picture threads, there is no need to request people to spam/troll this thread with off-topic posts like images.

Updated on my NEX 3 (firmware v04) and find it useful when MFing with my A-mount lens on LA-EA1 adaptor. My immediate thoughts MF lens prices should appreciate more.

I'm quite comfortable already with the peaking function, more so than the MF Assist as I see the whole frame instead of a small, zoomed-in portion.

But for Macro Photography, the MF Assist is very much useful, not that it is render useless with the new Peaking function.

My 2cents.

Had just updated my firmware and 1st thing to do is to test it with my manual lenses. The peaking feature is quite accurate and fun

what photo creativity? it's exactly what's in the C3 that the update addresses in the NEX-3 and NEX-5 i.e. including the picture effects mode with effects like toy camera and polarization and color isolation

But wat i see thru youtube, theres one new photo creativity tat lets u control e colour tone n brightness thru e dial like e backgrnd defocus sometin like tat...but i dun see in mine...

Anyone can enlighten me on the peaking level setting. I tried the different level but cannot seems to tell any differences. Maybe the outline is more intense at higher level.

Dis is e advertisement but it also shows e controllin of e creativity...i already check n tink must b in auto mode only to control tat photo creativity stuff...cuz yesterday i tried in aperture n shutter wich i norm use but no avail..
Later after werk i play n check again..

erm. please use proper english. it's a pain to read what you're typing.

Background Defocus is only available in Auto mode. when you use the picture effects, it's mainly set to Auto Mode. you lose control over the settings. therefore, you can't use them in PASM.

the photo creativity modes you're talking about are the "picture effects" mode in the mode menu. those are pre-set and can't be altered much in any way.

FYI, I just read from other forum, the MF peaking actually makes the battery run out faster..

I turned off the peaking - my battery dropped to 80% from 100% after about 30 minutes. This is unacceptable.
Anyone else noticed the "Shoot Mode" dial became sluggish after the firmware update?

I saw on the video 0:41 got this skin effect feature? Cannot find it anywhere. Want to try out whether can make any girl look more chio. Haha.
