Nex 5 images

why cant get it? U urgently need a camera now? Try enduring one more month for the pink colour to come out :)

else the red colour one (which is already on sale) is not bad for girls too IMO :)

EDIT: just saw ur reason. Well the red is nice too, can consider :) Red can be for guys and girls as well, so u can share with ur bf/hubby.

hi, are you a NEX user?
is there any distinct quality difference between NEX 3 and NEX 5?

hi bro, numbering your pictures will make it easier for commenting though.

The differences what I know are:
1. The body casing design and material are different, NEX-5 alloy magnesium vs NEX-3 plastic, NEX-5 grip is deeper vs NEX-3 grip is wider
2. Video format is different, NEX-5 has high quality HD video recording.

Bro GSi6576,

Your pictures look soft in night shots, not that sharp.
Is this how NEX performs?

That's because most of his shots are taken with F3.5, ISO 1600 and shutter speed of 1/20 sec.

With a tripod, smaller aperture and lower ISO, he'll produce stunning pictures.

could be i took the photos handheld...

but i took this one on a tripod..

yes, all of my shots were taken in aperature priority mode. i have not learnt to use in manual mode yet. anything my kit lens is only able to go to to F3.5.

u should use a smaller aperture (bigger f number) instead, when u r mounting ur camera on a tripod.

Smaller aperture has more depth of field, makes things sharper also.

Can dun use tripod bor since he is shooting the scenery while touring the area?
Not possible for him to keep using tripod all the time.

I love the freeze motion on the water.
How do you do that?

Ah that's contrary from freezing , from the exif, a shutter speed of 1 second was used , hence you get the effects of smooth flowing water :)

On such a bright day, the shutter speed should be very fast but as you can see from his settings, its 1 sec. That means too long an exposure on the water resulting in no clear resolution of details which is why they appear milk like. This is not freeze motion. Freeze motion is when you set the shutter speed fast enough to freeze the motion and capture the water clearly. In this case, water appears in its original transparent appearance but frozen in time.
cheers.

Just to add on, his aperture is f16 which helps to keep the whole scene sharp from front to back. Having a small aperture also allowed him to slow down his shutter speed to 1 sec which created the silky effect on the water.

May I add, the smaller aperture also prevents the image from being overexposed (by letting less light in) despite the long shutter exposure of 1sec under a sunny condition.

;)
