No, only sdxc
is the 45mb/sec Sandisk extreme Class 10 card fast enough? The sony manual says ok...
The still file size is small so I want to just get the slowest card that can record Xavc movie.

Camera will put out an error msg when wrong card is used for xavc. camera won't shoot xavc on your above mentioned card. Have tried that card before, which not mistaken is still SDHC.
The 64GB 45mb/s sandisk card is sdxc. There is another version which is 80mb/sec that cost almost double. I am assuming the 45mb/s card works as long as it is sdxc.
I don't want to bring my camera down to test.
i bought a Sandisk SDXC 64GB 30mb/s card.. it is working..
May I know where do you guys purchase A7s ? any recent purchase can share the purchasing ?
May I know the pricing ?

is there any tradeoff in enabling the silent shutter??
image quality drop or shutter speed limitations or banding under certain lights?
if i remember correctly, i think in silent shutter mode under fluorescent lighting, you need to shoot with shutter speeds in multiples of 50 (e.g. 50, 100, 150, 200 etc.), to avoid horizontal banding. it needs to sync with our local power line's frequency of 50 cycles/sec. this was the same case when i was using my previous lumix gx7. will reconfirm this when i get my hands on my upcoming set.is there any tradeoff in enabling the silent shutter??

I see.
And yes, i can confirm that it's true.
I got mine at click. But I think the regular shops like SLRR, mscolor etc is around that price as Sony is having a cashback rebate promotion.
After playing with the a7s and 55mm for one more day, although the AFC is not very good, AFS speed is very fast in good light. And the hit rate is very high. The eye AF is REALLY good and super accurate. Nails the focus on the eyes easily even with a very thin DOF of 55mm f1.8. I can accept a lousy AFC tradeoff in return for a super accurate AFS which is better than my D800 phase detect AF.
Also the 55mm lens is really good. Sharp at f1.8 (my sensor is 12meg so it must be sharp) and the loCA is very minimal even at f1.8.
Now I am tempted with this A7S..................not sure if it is wise to replace my A7 with the A7S...... I usually shoot indoor, not dark dark but our home lighting..... I also tend to use flash and no.... I dont usually shoot high ISO..... 4K video is a good to have but not necessity.... but I love word "sharp"...
.... maybe I do something wrong.... using my A7 and FE55, out of 10, maybe only 1 to 2 the focus is spot on..... :dunno:
If u r not getting sharp shots with a7 and fe55, I'm sorry to tell you that it's your fundamentals that needs refining. The way you handhold, the way you acquire focus and recompose, even the way you press the shutter button. Getting a A7S won't help much.
yap... prob still getting use to it..... will need time to know the A7 bah..... :embrass:..........
