[News] Nikon DSLR Df - Retro or Ugly and Over Price ???

In Australia at a leading Nikon and Fuji Dealership / store :

" Release date is 28th November. Reserve your camera today!
Nikon Df (Silver or Black) AUD $2995
Nikon Df with matched 50mm F1.8 AUD $3295
For a limited time, purchase a Nikon Df and receive a free 32GB Extreme Pro SD! Valued at $125!!! "

Isn't that RRP? Sounds like a bad deal.

The Same store has readjusted their pricing to AUD $3095 and $3395 respectively. ( still including the mem card. )

How much are those cards in SG? More than a few dozen S$?

PURE PHOTOGRAPHY has become an adage for Nikon to handicap the DF and still charge a premium for it. I don't mind the handicap but the price is just wrong for a camera made with leftover parts from the warehouse.

Looks like this camera is going to be a real difficult to swallow for most consumers. 3+K is definitely not what casual shooters would pay for a travel camera when there are so many other alternatives available. Just when I thought I could finally get an affordable camera with outstanding IQ.

For now, I'd say, if you badly want the D4 sensor and don't want to pay D4 price, then get the Df, if you don't mind the look.

Well said. I got the exact feeling too.

D4 sensor is good to have, but all the dials on the camera really made it look clumsy. I just feel they might as well come out with a film cam instead of this ..
