There must be real advantage compared to the rest, Minolta DSLR to survive the race since it already late for the competition. Other than the AS technology, I suspect the viewfinder will be very different and exciting (a EVF?)

But fix the noise issue in the A1 first..

Heh now that u mention it...... they might have a real time EVF that performs like an optical one...... or a LCD panel which shows the scene in real time via some capture device on the mirror plane...... that would be way cool! And open the way for video recording on DSLRs........ kekeke...... maybe they should employ me to head their R&D For wild ideas huh?! :D :blah:

yap.. actually I don't quite like the idea of using EVF (based on existing one), but what if we can't the diff when we see thru the tiny hole? With EVF, many A1 feature can be included into a DSLR which existing mirror reflex method can't.

1) tilted VF, upright by 90 degree. For many time, I wish I using a medium format with top viewfinder, so that my shoot can go really low to the ground.

2) Many different type of grid in the VF that is interchangable with just a button press. Useful for technical or landscape photography.

3) Digital magnifier for macro shots.

4) Low light or night photography. The contrast and brightness of the scene can be enhanced via EVF too!

5) Flexi-focus point. I know Nikon F5 has this, but heck, isn't it cheaper to implement digitally?

6) Real time histogram in the VF.

and for rest for TME (To-be Head of Minolta R&D) to fill in :D

Just one thing, I must never feel like I'm using EVF.

The ultimate camera??

C'mon.. they are more or less A1 features, isn't it? kekeke..

I think the only real issue here is "having a EVF that look like real viewfinder", as of now.. still far far from it.

I never like the EVF, not because it is tooooooo slow or not sharp but it will be a device that drain the battery juice at an accelerated rate. I am fine with optical.

Can be implemented on body with optical viewfinder. Just costs a lot to do so. U need 2 high grade prisms plus other fancy stuff....

2) Many different type of grid in the VF that is interchangable with just a button press. Useful for technical or landscape photography.
Again can be implemented via a holographic LCS like those in the HUD of a fighter jet and the view TTL can be passed through. Can be coloured somemore...

3) Digital magnifier for macro shots.
Can also be built in as I mentioned.. the camera needs a capture device behind the mirror or on the mirror and then digitally manipulate the image.

4) Low light or night photography. The contrast and brightness of the scene can be enhanced via EVF too!
This one digital win lar..... but maybe also not impossible

5) Flexi-focus point. I know Nikon F5 has this, but heck, isn't it cheaper to implement digitally?
Is this really necessary?

6) Real time histogram in the VF.
Sorry dun use it at all... rather PS the image

forbytes: I agree... fine with optical.... if it ain't broke dun fix it!

>>EX.

>>I know what you mean.. but just add Ex to already Ex..

3) Digital magnifier for macro shots.

>> hmm, sound ok, but after digitally manipulate where to output for viewing?

5) Flexi-focus point. I know Nikon F5 has this, but heck, isn't it cheaper to implement digitally?

>> Oh yes. at least for me.. heee

6) Real time histogram in the VF.
>Sorry dun use it at all... rather PS the image
>> True, but you can't PS with 255,255,255 or 0,0,0 at the point it captured. Its a rough guide to ensure proper exposure.

Still your fighter jet HUD idea can retain our beloved optical viewfinder yet provide EVF feature. Make sure Minolta read this.. haaaa

rejoice for the time is near........good things comes to those who wait.......
