[ News ] GX7 is available for sale in Singapore

To share my knowledge, I managed to get it off at $1380 for the bundle at HN (westmall ).. Do note that they would be more willing to lower the price if you would pay by NETS and not credit card (as there will be no credit card fee).

I told them saying that parkway HN selling for $1380 and the salesperson went to check the system and did some calculation. He said nope dont have such thing, I remain firm and confident (as instructed by pennystock) and they proceeded to ask me my mode of payment. When I said NETS, his colleague quickly jumped in and say ok, deal! The rest was history. All the best people!! ;)

Knowledge is power!

by far the best price I've seen. Proud of u haha. How fast the price has dropped though.
Just a week ago it was around $1480 w/ standard pack + SD + bag.

really good buy. I am sure $1380 is a price i will have difficulty even getting in HK and there's no GST.

Effectively, GX7 body is <$1000 if u sell your 20f1.7 ii, almost same price with used EM5 in bns.

$1350 ;) we aim high !

Haha hey again guys, I have been using the gx7 and loving it! Together with the prime kit lens 20mm f1.7, images produced are so beautiful especially for portraits shots! EVF was a bit irritating at the start but I ended up switching it off and only on it when it's needed to be used.

Am now looking at getting a zoom lens... I realised I love large aperture. Love it so much it is constantly set to f1.7 hahaha.. So I was thinking what will be a good zoom to invest in with large aperture? However I also don't want it to give me the impression I no longer need to use the prime lens as well.

Dunno if you guys understand what I mean haha, but will be waiting for suggestions!

Understand :) glad u r having fun.

Pana 12-35/2.8 or the much awaited Oly 12-40 if u can wait a bit more. GX7 has 2-axis IS so the Oly on it should work fine.

Both are f2.8 constant and the only 2 available large aperture zooms for MFT so far.

Soon to be 3, including the 40-150 hahaha

You guys forgotten the 35-100mm... :(

Haha ya; slipped my mind. Wasn't focusing on the far zooms.

The 35-100/2.8 avail now & 40-150/2.8 in 2014. Start saving ;)

I'm curious ; anyone here ever tried the Pana 14-140 MK II ? The one that ends at f5.6 , not f5.8

And starts at f3.5 not f4.. thats a little bit of improvement.. I had a old 14-140 before and I must say its a good travel lens during those days where 12-35,35-100 is not out yet. Only thing I complain about is the weight.. which the new lens made good lighter and shorter, nearer min focus distance, better ois.

Yup , I had the Oly 14-150 (haha, old times) but 14-140 MK1 was sharper without any doubts though much heavier and more costly.

Local mkt's very quiet with regards to the 14-140 II hence i was wondering why. I believe US mkt bundles it as a kit lens for some models.

The MKII gives an overall good improvement.

Tried 14-140 MKII during the MSC GX7 event.

It is really light and small but on the downside, the built is not as sturdy and the zoom feels flimsy.

12-35 is a wide angle focal length lens? I have a question if it's so, would having such a low aperture be useful compared to let's say a higher focal length?

Btw what is the aperture for 14-140?

Yes it is useful even for wide angle. We are talking about fast lens here. Its allow more light to transmit (higher shutter spd) in therefore allow u to handheld ur camera in a dim area.

14-140 aperture start with 3.5-5.6 as bros here have mentioned earlier.

thanks for sharing! guess Pana had to compromise a bit to keep the size even more compact and prices even lower than the original.

Optoms answered the aperture for 14-140 II liao.

12mm (aka 24mm) can be considered approaching wide angle though I'd see it as a standard zoom. For MFT, I'll consider the 7-14mm and 9-18mm as wides instead.
I guess most people will hope for a large aperture with large focal lengths but by the law of physics - the lens will grow to a considerably size. ..

the venerable FT 300mm/2.8 Zuiko lens with the EP1. (in case u didn't notice the small shiny object at the right is the camera body)
anyway,

here : http://www.four-thirds.org/en/microft/lens_chart.html
most of the lenses in MFT are listed here, have fun choosing. Clicking on the model links u to the description.
