[ News ] GX7 is available for sale in Singapore

Have to admit The GX 7 seems to be a slam dunk by Panasonic. Great product with great results in image quality and that pricing in Singapore!

Before the pricing and recent hands on reviews i was not even considering a Lumix again (i have the GX1- good camera to use but image quality in my opinion not as good as oly em 5 onwards)

I had almost made up my mind on an Oly being my next camera ( my mom loves the GX 1 so giving that to her) but silent shutter, handling and better video confusing me. Maybe i will get a Lumix again afterall... Hehe

Choices are good!

Gx7+20 f1.7ii below $1.4k? Which HN? Funan?

Relax pple (:

If u really wan the GX7 for below $1.4k, probably wait a little bit la. 1 or 2 months is prob it all takes for prices to hit below $1.4k at most shops even though I feel the $1.5k a guy here paid for the standard set + 1 batt is honestly a good deal.

Best timing is wait till EM-1 stocks appears which is end Oct. Though really different beasts , prices confirm affected de la.

Eh don't try to get your hopes too high, worldwide high demand for it ha

Wow lan eh... Hn cheapest below &1400

Wah seh surprise! SLRR usually cheapest, if they not, just complain others are better, they can reduce haha. tried with EP5 preorder last time.

Some shots with creative art filter, so fun. Have Bleach bypass! & monotone is good, can control even. The app is good but a bit complicated, can do bulb even without release cable, I like!! The eye sensor is bit too sensitive (after set to low) as the placement is on the left corner, easily turn off lcd screen. Battery is rather shortlived its seems, spare battery is good to have. All with Panasonic 7-14.

The dramatic monotone looks great; like the tones a lot.

I've been shooting briefly with the Panasonic 100-300 and GX7. I tried manual peaking focus with AF turned off and no problem nailing the focus. About half the shots below are manual focused. A magnified window comes up once you turn the focusing ring in MF mode. I must say though that the AF with the 100-300 was lightning quick. The shots below are not the most interesting but give an idea on how the 100-300 renders with the GX7. The 100-300 balances quite well with the GX7 which bodes well for other long heavy lenses

All the shots are unprocessed, uncropped out of camera jpegs

Sam, many thanks for the photos, really appreciate.

Nice! What were the colour settings?

played around with a set at funan...feels premium ...impressed by the silent shutter...the try set got the 12-35...nice feel and weight...but very bothered by 1 thing...when from LCD view...put camera to the eye EVF...it's like a 3-4second delay before the EVF light up...WT...

Eye sensitivity function

Eye sensitivity function

Eye sensitive does not affect the timing to activate the evf. It only makes the evf sensor less sensitive towards "blockage" in the case of low sensitiveness setting. I tried and it is like half a sec reaction at most after I place my eye on evf. The 4 sec delay could be some problem with the set..?

Too long, it's about 1/2-1 sec.

I think it affects the distance to eye sensor. High setting is further from eye sensor. I feel the eye sensor would be better place to right side of evf, sometimes if place on portrait orientation on flat surface may trigger evf.

Thanks Wonglp, this is my difficulty faced with the GX7's EVF but i just didn't know how to put it in words other than saying the 'feel' of using the camera :(
Using it .. there were times where i mis-triggered the EVF/swtched off the LCD when i didn't wan to. Think mentioned before in an other thread. This didn't happen with all my other camera models.

BUT a 4 sec delay described by senser isn't acceptable/normal. Should be something wrong with the set. The set i tried had a delay of around max 1.5 sec; which is too slow for me.

Is it able to process the RAW files in-camera?

Does the 20mm lens come with a Hood?

Im sorry..my" 4s" is subjective..but I do find definite lag compared to my other camera with eye sensor

Only jpeg - retouch, cropping, resize, rotate. Fyi, I'm using pre production set though.
