There is no research showing flash hurt the newborn's eye and that is not the reason why I don't use it.

my brother always scolds me whenever i use the flash around my barely 4 months old nephew, saying the flash will harm the infant's eyes' development and damage it..

so really it's alright? i never angled the flash towards the infant. i bounce the light.. haha yet i get scolded.

Well, flash is darn annoying and I hate to be flashed at too.

I am not a doctor so I don't know exactly if it is ok or it is not... but there is no research as far as I know in this area that support otherwise.

I don't use flash when shooting my little subject. Turn it off and you get better shot anyway.
