windex!
best cleaning solvent ever, cleans my stuff sparkling!

great to clean window and glass too ;)

hmmm where to buy? available in Supermarket?

OK guys, thanks for all the info.

I am negotiating a Yashica 35 Electro GSN with seller from our neighbouring country, although, it has very small fungus and also rusts on hinges according to the pics he sent.

But it's on sale at bargain price, hence I am considering it. All functions are working, seal : he said in good condition, meter : good, he has put in the film-rol, but haven't processed.

Any idea how much can i expect for this condition ? How much is the CLA and all the necessary actions to bring it to a "normal" condition ?

Cheers

Hi All.

Shot film before using Ricoh SLR. Does anyone have any idea how to tryout rangefinder camera ? Rent / Borrow, etc ?

I really don't want to spend too much first. Please advise.

Cheers

for the paint chipped off, i paste black tape neatly on it to prevent it from further chipping off. i took them off for photo taking purpose.

Time to organize another outing. ;)

i was wondering .. why nobody recommend Olympus Rangefinder like 35 RC or SP ?

Hi Nicekit.

Pls inform and/or recommend :)

Cheers

i am a newbie in rangefinders also...

but i heard Olympus 35 RC or Olympus 35 SP is one of the best...

The cosina and bessa L ain't cheap in TCW. They quoted me 280 and 350 for the cosina and Bessa respectively. Don't quite get the price difference when they are the same body.

You can wait here in the B&S for those cameras to pop by or shop at the 2nd hand shops at peninsular. There's a Bessa L and a SW-107 in TCW for sale now if you want a cheap interchangable lens manual RF camera. There's also a Bessa R at another 2nd hand shop further down the road.

It's all in the brand. The same thing is happening with the panasonic and Leica digital cameras. Change a bit here and there, slap on a red dot and you can charge $300 more for a Leica product.

I din say they were cheap. Just that i saw them there but don't know the price.

The colour of the body also makes a difference to the price. The blacks are just worth more.

Russian cameras are pretty ok themselves. Their lenses, being copies of Zeiss glass, is excellent.

How about Kodak's Retina IIIc or IIc (small c ) ? It is a fold camera which made in Germany during 1950s. It use Xenon lens that provides excellent result. There 2 version allow you to change the front lens and provides focal length.
It is not difficult to get from eBay and cheap. Not difficult or expensive to do CLA too.

Yes, finally I have GSN (after 2 wks US trip).

But i noticed there's no foam inside the film chamber (on the door). Will that cause any problem ?

And, pls inform if there's another outing soon to learn from all you guys (or gals). Hope to be able to play with this baby, soon.

Cheers

For the GSN, you should get foam in there to prevent light from getting in. You can send it to a repair workshop for this or do it yourself via online DIY websites.

Hope you get to use it soon as well. It'll be wild man...absolutely WILD! Small and compact enough to bring everywhere you go and so fun to use! :)
I showed mine off at work and one of the office accounts ah lians, who surprisingly is quite the photography queen herself said "This camera manual one" upon laying eyes on it. I was impressed.
Others had asked to view their image after taking their picture assuming it was digital. ha ha.

When I brought my Leica IIIc out for a spin, my friends didn't know it was a camera!

I also having the same situation just like yours... I'm using a Mamiya 135 EE Rangefinder Camera... after taking a few shot for my friends, they move in towards me and asking me to turn on the LCD screen to view the pictures...
