Yup Hoya or Kenko is good enough. But do take note, those cheap filter when taking at night, it's best to remove them, if not you will get flaring (or there is direct light towards to your lens with filter on).Not too sure those expensive one would have flaring as i don't own one, too expensive for me to pay for it.
Actually if you are using the Kit lens, getting a Hood first much better?
Hey ranchy, thanks for the advise
Hood is for taking pics in bright sunny daylight?
Is it advisable for me a noobie to use Manual Mode?
I also also a noobie, but learning with manual mode, there's always a Green button to help you out, Try it then take the pictures, if you feel, its too bright or dark, you can adjust the setting yourself loh. Digital format, you can always delete it.
If not, Tv, Av, Sv are also good to use. Adjust one setting, let the camera decide for you loh. There is no one best way of using but many way of using. Most important, Which one you feel comfortable with, you go with it.
However, you can always use the picture and scene modes on the k-x dials, it is useful when you are lazy to set up or in a rush. Just my opinion....
