welcome to pentax...you will enjoy your stay....

Hi Joyce, nice to see u :P
I got a black though, wanted to get a white at first....but afraid of the dirt... :embrass:
So im trapped here still figuring whether to get the Sanyo eneloop charger or the
MAHA charger as im quite budget constraint, dun wan to spend too much again ;p

I got my Eneloops for $17 from eBay.

Welcome Babe~

Nice to see another female Pentaxian.

You got a Red or White one?

Wow...thanks for the kind advise...
Can Maha charger charge Sanyo Eneloops?
Got a quote from Tecpoint on Ebay,
8pcs Eneloops $33 + 6hr Charger with 2AA eneloop $27 + Delivery $2 = $62
Is this worth or good? Or should i get the MAHA charger?
BTW im a Gal not Bro....

Welcome to the family.

YES the Maha chargers can charge any NiMH battery including the Eneloops . . .

Maha charger comes with either the PowerEx 2700 mAh or PowerEx Imedions as a set . . .

Hi felix, thanks for explaining....
Have bought the New enhanced Pink Eneloops 8AA + 6hr Charger from Tecpoint at $70.
Is it a good deal :D

tecpoint is selling those eneloops for $43, i read on another thread, so they sold you the 6 hour charger for $27. i don't know about the price for that.

i suppose it's an ok price, though i would really have preferred getting something better from eastgear. for example:

http://www.eastgear.com/maha-mh-c401fs-charger-with-4-aa-imedion.html

which can switch between fast charging and slow charging.

there are also more advanced/alternative models that allow you to fully discharge the battery and rejuvenate it, etc..

but that said, if you do always remember to charge, then it should be fine. ;)

I am using hte same charger that night86mare uses plus I have the F201 a 1 hour charger too

For me, the real simple solution was to go down OP and get the Maha charger (2hr one) which came with 4 Imedions. Price was reasonable and OP is a nice enough shop to deal with.

I am more cheapo on the batteries. GP Recyklo are on offer every now and then (think its ~$14 for 4pcs). Quite comparable to the Eneloops in terms of voltage drop over load based on candlepower forums. I've never had much issues with them on my K100d and flash.

Hi Nightmare, yup they sold me $27 for the charger + $43 for 8AAs :D
Is the 6hr charger good?
Will prefer a slow charging instead of quick charger since i have spare bats.... so
i can charge slowly ;p

One question, anyone knows how to adjust the aperture from TV / SV mode?
Still very new to my KX, roughly know how to adjust ISO only.
And also how to adjust shutter speed when using AV / SV mode?
Thanks muchly

When you are at TV/SV mode, you cant adjust aperture. At these mode, you can adjust shutter speed for Tv and Sv, you can only control ISO only. Same goes for Av where you can only control aperture. Use M to control all. Not sure does k-x have TAv which allow you to control shutter and aperture

Tv, Sv and Av are "semi-auto" mode.
When you use one of these "semi-auto" mode, it will only allow you control one settings (eg Shutter) and the camera will determine the best settings for the other (eg ISO and aperture)

Sv can only control ISO
Tv can only control the shutter speed
Av only aperture control

Only in full M (manual mode) you can control all three settings manually.

6 hours is ok, slow though.. sometimes i want the batteries charged fast.

you can't adjust aperture from TV mode, TV mode is shutter priority, so what it does is you SET the shutter speed, and then the camera decides (based on proper exposure and metering) what other value to fill in - if you have selected auto iso it will pick ISO and aperture.

similarly, for shutter speed in AV mode, that's aperture priority, so you SET the aperture, and the camera decides everything else that you have not specified. and that includes shutter speed.

hope this helps.

Yup Hoya or Kenko is good enough. But do take note, those cheap filter when taking at night, it's best to remove them, if not you will get flaring (or there is direct light towards to your lens with filter on).Not too sure those expensive one would have flaring as i don't own one, too expensive for me to pay for it. ;p
Actually if you are using the Kit lens, getting a Hood first much better?

I also also a noobie, but learning with manual mode, there's always a Green button to help you out, Try it then take the pictures, if you feel, its too bright or dark, you can adjust the setting yourself loh. Digital format, you can always delete it.
If not, Tv, Av, Sv are also good to use. Adjust one setting, let the camera decide for you loh. There is no one best way of using but many way of using. Most important, Which one you feel comfortable with, you go with it.
However, you can always use the picture and scene modes on the k-x dials, it is useful when you are lazy to set up or in a rush. Just my opinion....

don't get that $10 one :nono:

i have it and tried it. its not ideal. putting a cheap piece of glass in front of a well-crafted lens makes no sense

spend a bit more to get the kenko, hoya or marumi one... they are affordable and decent.

I presume you are using the K-x.

For AV mode, the dial controls the shutter speed while the +/- button controls the Aperture (Press the button snd turn the dial to change the aperture)

I do not use the other modes besides AV and M so I cannot tell you how Tv/Sv works
