Dear all,
I've fallen in love with photography only recently, and I am very inspired by some of the works done with rangefinder cameras.
I am looking for a rangefinder camera, but I'm on a budget of about 500-600 bucks. Is there any rangefinder camera (I am pretty much ok with a super old one as long as it is in pretty ok condition) that is suitable for someone like me learning how to use rangefinders for the first time?
And where can I get them from?
Need advice.
Thanks and cheerios.;)

There are bessa series from voigtlander which is very good, can look for R or R2A/M. Bought second hand can get spare cash for lens. Can get them from CS buy and sell . Or if you want to buy new can look for Chiif http://www.chiifcameras.com/site2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1&Itemid=2

He is the distributor of Voigtlander, can get lens from him as well .

Otherwise you can look for those Canonet series from Canon, or Yashica rangefinder , look for them at clubsnap or peninsula cityhall area.

A good link http://www.cameraquest.com/classics.htm

BTW i'm selling a bessa R body ,let me know if u interested,he he.

I think you can start of with Rollei 35 LED as a beginers. It simple to use.
Come with a fixed 40mm f3.5 Triostar lens. Or maybe can start of with Yashica cam.
I think theres a few model around at Buy&Sell thread.

Bessa is good. I have an R2.

There are also the Russian or former Soviet Union (FSU) ones like FED, Zorki, etc that present very cheap and basic starters, albeit without metering.

Good luck.

What is the diff btw the Voigtlander R2 and the rest of the R2 series? I know A is for aperture priority and M for manual. But does that mean that the R2 doesn't have either at all?
Thanks

R2 is 100% mechanical with meter. No auto.
