New X30 from Fujifilm

Hi there, i've already pre-ordered one.
Here's my humble impression of the camera. I have yet to go to Funan to try the camera yet...

Thanks for the heads-up, Xavier. The X30 is certainly on my shortlist for a travel camera.
I used to lug around 3-6 kg of camera gear while on holiday ;p
But those days are over - travel light, enjoy more:)

still prefer the x-e2

I went to funan to try the cam. I must say that the build quality is quite gd. Feels the evf is superb for a compact cam. Tempted to get but pre-order price is abit steep...

Anyone preorder and got their set already? Care to share any day to day use feedback? Thanks! (:

Now LX100 and G7X announced already, don't know if will shift buy decision or not. Hahaha.

Ya. The LX100 looks good!

LX100..to me sits between a x100t and x30..great specs.

Fujifilm X30 units are in store. At least in TK!

Pre-order price and street price is the same? The only difference is the freebies..

Wah. now that the price of G7X is announced (SGD$799) having a headache to buy this as a 2nd cam to my X100 or the G7X. What I know is the LX100 is way out of my budget. hahahah!

Fuji X30 manuals now available for download before you get the camera hopefully this Friday, September 19 from Best Denki.

Fuji X30 all set up. First impression is that unlike the LX5, the menu can be very much activated with the Control Ring and the Control Ring Button. The many options available is quite a lot; and will need time to figure all of them out. The display in the EVF is rather small and can be difficult for "old eyes". Will need to adjust. Definitely a lot easier to manipulate with many options versus the LX5.

2nd day playing with the X30. I am impressed by the menu changes as you shoot. With the control ring, you can do so many things. With the Q Menu, customizable, one can also do so much. The quality of the photo coming out is as one can see from the EVF, which I prefer at this time.

The case does not cover the entire camera; hence a screen protector is next step to protect it from scratches. Also there is no cover for the horseshoe as well. I guess they are not critical in taking good pictures. The sound of the shotting does not sound like a DSLR. Good learning journey at this time. Hope to hear other people's experience. Still to try the video. I like the EV dial. So far, good experience.

In your opinion, what the highest usable ISO for this cam?

VanGogh53... Thanks so much for your input. I'm really interested in the video quality as well, as I intend to use the X30 as my 'holiday' cam. Would really appreciate some feedback on this. Cheers :)

Its the same sensor as the X20/XQ1.. so highest usable ISO is 800 (clean with normal NR on). You can push to 1600 depending on your personal tolerance for noise

I'll be interested in the AF capabilities of the X30 as a video camera. I know for sure the video quality is good (Having own a XQ1), but the AF can be a bit iffy.

Tried today at night using Adv mode; ISO3200 and f2.0, 1/27 - in my opinion very useable. Am happy with the camera so far. Still trying out in various situations.
