I'm told that I was the first to pick up this lens from Chiif today. Here are the 2 important things to note:

1. It brings up the 28/90 frame lines on the M8
2. There is a little recess on the outer edge of the lens mount so that hand coding is probably a bit more permanent as the ink does not come into direct contact with the camera mount.

Lens is very sharp. Thanks to Chiif for bringing it in at a good price!

Wah, the First in Singapore! Congratulations! What's SN? Got buy 4-D or not? :bsmilie:
Great for the M8 users:thumbsup::thumbsup:

ayo.. y so special.. i hv the LTM lens already. :bsmilie:

I couldnt wait for this to arrive... so I bought the LTM like 2-3 weeks ago :bsmilie:

Nope, just the lens alone. With 15mm or 21mm finder it's S$850

I already ordered to the camera store in my country, they said the lens will arrive in next week. If the can't get the lens can i buy from you and send to Indonesia? Because very hard to find various voigtlander lens here

Regards
Arie

Hi GSD626,
The flange you got from me maybe can use on this new lens. Only if I knew about this lens earlier...the flange would still be be me..hehehe BTW have you converted the Zeiss 21mm yet?
cheers

Ha ha, yes, thanks for the flange! I decided to be brave and changed the flange on the Zeiss myself according to your instructions...it went smoothly and now, works perfectly! Thanks for the tips. Good suggestion about using the Zeiss flange on the CV 15mm but I just took a look at both lenses, and I think the screw locations are different although both mounts uses 4 screws. In any case, the recess on the outer edge of the new CV seems to be working well for hand coding.

Check with Gommy. He was generous enough to sell me his spare flange

Hi Cactus,
Do you still have the Zeiss Biogon21mmf2.8 (which have the coded flange) you bought from me? You can transfer it to the CV15mm but according to GSD626, the screw holes are in different position. So verify b4 you change.
Or remove your flange from your CV15mm & send to John Milich for milling. I understand there is some recess built into the flange & according to GSD626, he managed to hand code.
Can you or GSD626 post a photo of the flange?

I have a feeling that they changed the screws positions so that the recess for CV15 can be placed where the coding should be to enable hand-coding. The normal CV/Zeiss flange has one screw hole right where the coding area is.
Cactus Jack, try different marker or matt enamel paint.

Yes, exactly. The screw positions for the CV is such that it does not fall where the 6-bit codes are located unlike the Zeiss where one screw is exactly where the 5th (from the left) code is located. Will try to post photos later.

Here are photos of the Zeiss 21mm f2.8 and the new CV 15mm f4 showing the screw positions, and the recess in the CV's flange for hand coding.

Thanks for posting the photos! Cosina is very smart! Wonder if they will replace new production lenses with this new mount.
Better still if they can come out with LTM adapter Type III with this recess.:)
Chiff, can you explore this?;)

I think the newer lenses have all their screws reposition to meet the quirk requirements of the M8 people... :bsmilie:
