there is, but not for use with this type of lens
the d300/d700 mirror lock up is for minimizing vibration/shake on tripod mount etc

If I'm not wrong... the moment you fire the shutter, the mirror flips back down.. and whacks the rear element :s
Just flip thru my D700 Manual... You are Right!! The mirror flips back down after you fire the shutter in the "Mup" Mode.
How I wish they could have a permanent Mirror Up Mode in Live View. With the big screen, manual focusing should not be a problem. Then, we can all use our M-Mount and LTM lenses with a Full Frame Sensor...How nice...;p

Nope, just the lens alone. With 15mm or 21mm finder it's S$850
I'm told that I was the first to pick up this lens from Chiif today. Here are the 2 important things to note:
1. It brings up the 28/90 frame lines on the M8
2. There is a little recess on the outer edge of the lens mount so that hand coding is probably a bit more permanent as the ink does not come into direct contact with the camera mount.
Lens is very sharp. Thanks to Chiif for bringing it in at a good price!
