You still need the adaptor to fit the filters. I suspect AP has misunderstand your question.

Basically, you need an adaptor to fit the filters to the camera. The default adaptor is 72mm and it means you will pay more when buying filters for this size. Instead, you can get the Phayee adaptor so that you can use the 62mm thread filters. Also Phayee adaptor allows the filters to be nearer to the lens than compare to the original one.

AP quoted $18 w/o GST for a Hoya 62mm UV filter y'day. may be that's why you should think about the phayee adaptor (only $25). your investment will pay off after buying 2 filters ;)
Jim davis is selling some phayee adaptors, but i guess you already know that.

Try Tokina at CP. I bought my at $10 only.

agree with john... tokina price's cheaper :)

I called AP, told them i have a FZ 10 and wish to buy a UV filter.... they told me the filter's price and when i ask if i need any sort of adaptor to fit in the filter he replied "no need, it fits to the hood(?)/comes with an adator ring... or something like that...

I also called CP, they say they don't have such things...

Ok. I think AP did not explain to you clearly. What they means is that you can use the adaptor that comes with FZ10 unless it is not included in the package. if not, get the Phayee ones and you can use 62mm filters which is much cheaper.

As for CP, let me go this evening to turn their shops up-side-down for you. Anyway you like me know which thread size you are looking at, 72mm or 62mm.

Cheers
John

you need a 72mm UV filter to fit the adaptor that comes with FZ10/20, -> more expensive
throw away the original adaptor, buy phayee adaptor ($25), then you can use 62mm UV filter instead -> you save money

Hi psx2sg,

Another primary function of the len adapter is where you want to mount third party conversion lenses such as wide angle lens or teleconversions ( refer to the pic as shown in my Avatar). If you still haven't got your len adapter, I have a Konix 72mm UV filter, Hoya 72mm +4 close-up filter and a Hoya 72mm Polorizing filter (all in mint condition) to let go as a package at a cheap price, fitted in nicely to the FZ10's hood. I'm not using them coz I only into bird photography. PM me if you're interested.

Cheers

oh~~~~ i get it now, so the default thread is 72mm, and if i get the adaptor i can use the 62mm one? oh~~ thanks man, u guys are great help!

I just called CP again, another guy explain that they don have the original and if i want to use the copatible ones i'll need to buy the apators which they don't sell.

Don't throw away. You going to need it when you decide to sell off your FZ.

Hi John,

Thanks for redirecting the new Lumixers to my Buy-and-Sell thread...I never expect that my close Lumix buddies like yourself, Hong Jia and Francis are watching my sales so closely. :)

For those who are new to Lumix: Not to worry about the last piece, if there is a demand, I will bring in the items again.

Sorry but was very busy when you SMS me.

I believe that John had helped you to visualized how things work. You are still welcome to meet up with me this evening, so that you can visually and physically see how the Phayee adapter works.

Bring along your FZ10, so that you can test it out....also....other Phayee items...

Yes, I have a 72mm UV filter that I would want to let go. Let me know if you are interested.

Guys, I had the Kako 9000E Slave flash which is the same spec as the
Suntax 9000TS after checking with Suntax SG.
It work on my FZ10.
Need to know do I need to change to the Suntax 328 DTZ which seem
everybody recommend for use with the FZ10 & FZ20?
Both spec almost same except that the 9000 no twin flash, battery life
120 - 1800 and 328 twin flash and batt life 120.
So what is twin flash gain, brighter?
Thanks.

psx2sg, borrow your thread, hope you don't mind. :)

no prob. this thread belongs to all Lumixers

No point changing... Do with what you have first, then if it does not satisify you then change. Later you buy buy buy, then u found out the effect is the same then waste money.

What Hong Jia mention is true. I buy and sell, buy and sell. in the end lose money quite alot. hehe
