new to Fuji's S5 Pro...

Hi Bro, I agreed strongly that my uncle's "Cow Sai" & "Vot-lander" lens can bring very vibrant colour. But my normal consumer range of Nikon Lens that failed to impress me in few occassion. Possible to enlighten me on the Nikon len that can bring out the "god like" colour.

you decide which is best!

personally i prefer the nikon 105mm f2.5 Ai-S (manual focus) best for bokeh, sharpness and colors. all of the photos are not PP except a few watermark were added

your normal consumer graded lens:

nikon 85mm f1.8 @ f2.8

nikon 105mm f2.5 ai-s [both shot wide open at f2.5

nikon 70-210 f5.6

nikon 50mm f1.8

Kingfisher, I understand from a thread that Jacob had been deregistered by the moderators. I miss his postings. Maybe you can try the B&S section. Occasionally, you can find someone selling his/her S5Pro. Cheers.

Today got to know a Fujifilm dealer, which I'm told last year model for fujifilm camera series had been replace by newer model and will be coming out this year, same for S5PRO.

anyway, if you are not in a hurry to get one might as well wait for it and see, the deal should not be a bad one.

Save up now and we may even get a better lenses to play with it, as of now for me is to play with my F200EXR and save up for the new fujifilm dslr. Yeah

rumors on the s6 pro have been out for more than a year already. i wouldn't hold my breath waiting for news on it. in any case if fuji really does announce the s6 pro, it will take about 6 months before it is available for sale, and i doubt it will sell for $1.1k. if you are eyeing the s5 pro, just get it. you will probably get a full year's worth of use before a successor arrives, if it does arrive.

The major reputable stores don't have it now. I am not sure about the less reputable ones though.

Both cameras are very different and serve completely different needs.

I can only say it all depends on how and what you shoot. My opinion is:

• < ISO 1000: S5 Pro offers better image quality
• > ISO 1000: D90 offers better image quality
• Tonality and Dynamic Range: S5 Pro is noticeably better
• Resolution and Detail: D90 beats the S5 Pro handily
• Video & Liveview: D90 thrash the S5 Pro up down left right center :bsmilie:
