Something I don't quite understand is why people want video mode on a DSLR? Wouldn't it be better to have a video cam instead since it can take still pictures as well? :dunno:

Hate those marketing gimmicks.
it's just like a phone with a camera, or now mp3 with camera; and the built-in camera sucks.

I can understand phone with a camera... some of the pics are decent... an emergency kind of thing... quick snaps for accidents, for catching criminals, for taking pictures for recces, for showing people products, requirements, space, etc... quite useful, don't have to carry another camera along... e.g. you go shopping for home furniture, taking pictures can help you go home compare them... no need a super duper camera mah...

ya quite useful. It's just the convenience. DSLR with video is also a convenience. so anyone wan to use it is up to the person lo. I got a cheapo 5mp LG camera hp and it just handy. but image still suck, but for the price I pay, is ok la.. no complains.

As for video DSLR, i think it can be handy at times. just like pns, got video. But for the price you get, DSLR video is still better but still wont be as good as a dedicated one, for now. I think we will see some revolution soon.

But all in all, I hope Sony dun come out with a DSLR with video that dun have articulated LCD

Seems this new CCD sensor is going to be launched with new DSLR-A1R.

And a new flash F64AM coming soon!!!

WOW 35.4MP.. You can print billboards with that!!

Well, time will tell whether this is real or fake. Actually I find the specs quite realistic, dunno which is ridiculous to me though.

When rumors leaked for A230/330/380/500/550/850, everyone also bash here and there and say all are fakes. But when Sony launched them, all the critics seems to have been silenced and no one seems to praise Sony thereafter.

Dun seem fair to them.

A few reasons why I think it's fake

1. 2s timer MLU only on a pro body?
2. Supplied with 2 batts, not a sensible choice since many buying would have already
owned a camera with the same type of batt. It'll also push up the price of the product.
3. Someone in dpreview mentioned that 100% with 0.9x VF is even bigger than A900/850.
And now it has to find space to put in a live view sensor on top of that larger VF!
4.The specs seem to indicate an on board flash, add that to point 3, how big has the
top of this camera going to be?:sweatsm:

i think sony's targeting red and leica. so probably it's possible. the supplied VG is awesome, but surely this cam might be close to $10k mark?

Power... sure cost a boom!! :bsmilie:
Yea, sony giving lots of hints and all those hints really does come true.
Sony getting more agressive i must say.

Those specs are fake... The spelling errors gives it away. :)

Sony has nothing that directly competes with the 1dsMkIII and D3X in terms of "pro studio appeal". Let's put aside the fact that the A900 is already getting great attention and is easily as good as those 2. ;)

It would make sense for Sony to release a high-end Pro camera body, especially now that their CZ lenses are achieving "drool status" amongst the other camps.

Before A900 came out,
Many said:
1) 100% OVF on FF is not possible,
2) In-built sensor shift stabiliser on FF not possible,
3) 24MP too far-fetched,

And still A900 is lighter and not any way much heavier/bigger than 5Dm2 or D700...

And when A850 was rumoured,
Many said:
1) Not possible as it will jeopardise A900 sales
2) Not possible to have dual bionz processors
3) Not possible to be below 3k

And critics silenced again...

So what is real and what is fake now? Do we believe in the company or people in forums here?

Anything is POSSIBLE unless until it is PROVEN otherwise.

So why not have a open-mind and anticipate it positively...

Well, it was mainly Canon that shouted those lines from the high heavens...

dun care... as long as sony comes out with cheaper bodies it's good for us consumers
I still wish they can lower the lenses price.

Their lenses are on par and sometimes cheaper than N and C for even better quality. Why still make it cheaper?

I concur. Pls pardon me if I sounded rude in my previous post.

But it's sometimes quite frustrating to share some special info here and all we get is full of cold blankets...
