new or used?

but I observe that the price quoted here most not even in the less 20 to 30% range. Saw someone posted to sell Nikon 300mm f4 and quoted $1200 and I believe that he owns it for more then a year....TG quoted brand new with GST as around 1.3k

Some might be misinformed, some might find their own equipment rivals that near to a new set or even better, so they chose that price range.

I would list a higher price definitely, as many would wanna bargain towards the end, that leaves some buffer, no?

300 f/4, to my knowledge is about 1.6K, 1.3K maybe in HK.

TS also consider going on a short trip in hk. Can go enjoy with family and at the same time save a lot of $.

Do it college style lah - fly low cost carriers, stay in the cheaper hostels. Use corporate rates for hotel bookings etc. You can definitely spend less than $1,000 in a trip. I know because I have done so before on many occasions. Even right now in Shanghai, I have spent less than S$1,200 for 6 nights. (Flew SQ and booked a 5 star hotel for 2 of the 6 nights)

Just checked in B&S section, somebody quoted S$1800 for the same lens, bought in sept 2011 :)

Don't sellers in the B&N check the prices of on-line shops before posting? Read a chap trying to sell the old 80-400mm for $1.6k, whilst a new grey set is selling less than that. Luckily my job allows me to go overseas once in a while. Was in Amsterdam recently and managed to get the full 21% VAT rebate for 2 lenses. Saved around $700 that paid for the hotel room.

If you don't like the price, just ignore, similarly, you post a lens for $1.6K and somebody comes and tell you, outside xxx cheaper, or tells you your set not worth the price, you can get it cheaper in Amsterdam after VAT and save a lot more...

Don't think your face will be smiling as you read the person's reply... just leave them be. Or offer what you feel is right.

Which is also why CS disabled the ability to reply to bns threads from non-TS.

Buyers also need to do their homework.

Willing buyer willing seller. If some one is willing to buy at 3 times the price of new, it is not my place to judge. Just that perosnally i will mot buy it.

Case by case basis.. and don't listen to the 50% BS. that is lowballer talk.

Absolutely agree.

Sadly there are some people just love to undermine others as if they are the experts in all things photography.

Why need 2k? Budget airlines are so cheap nowadays. Even if the tics to HK are higher, can fly to Macau, enjoy one night, then take the ferry to HK. Can even pop over to Shenzhen to grab accessories for cheap.

oh I m just saying :) instead of spending the money on travelling will just save it and purchase equipment from SG

It wouldn't be that big a bargain if you know how much a new Hadley pro costs in some other countries.

Yes, there are bargains still to be found. I recently sold a whole slew of stuff at bargain basement prices. Almost everything is sold within the same day it was posted, some within minutes.

Bro, yours is fire sales lor... it's even lower than what you can find in B&S.

If only you know the price difference of certain Nikon equipment between Singapore and HK... Then you would understand why we suggest doing so.

guys which is a better lens...Nikon 14-24 f2.8 or the 16-35 f4?

Better for what?
Have you read reviews? What are your requirements / expectations? Which point makes you think between the two? Budget?

Lol. Many have answered the question before. There are proponents for both lenses. Go search it up in ClubSnap.

For the record, I prefer the 14-24 f/2.8.

oops sorry never thought of that.... will search for it thanks

Hi moderator , how did you manage to get such low rate? I thought the listed rate of Wynn is 350+ bucks a day. even MGM macau & grand lisboa listed room rate is lower. Special corporate rate? or any other method that we can learn? can share the method? not everyone is as resourceful lol. btw, going to hk this coming dec. haha...
