New Noisy Neighbor right above my unit

Back when I was studying, one of my roommate majoring in mechanical engineering love inducing constant hydraulic shockwaves through the dormitory plumbing network after midnight which will more often than not, disrupt our much needed sleep.

Until one day, the tap decided to fail catastrophically, flooding our room as a result. :bsmilie:

Last night dont have ANY noise from top. This morning also. So, if I not wrong, is them who making the noise and the kid (P4), dares not to make noise as I will also make noise, haha! Will monitor this and see who is right/wrong. I dont mind if a while but it's too often for yrs till my fuse blown when it's 6+am!

Sometimes the issue is education on various levels rather than a direct initial confrontation. But easier said than done, and I think it is hard to keep things cordial in such situations.

Ran into similar issues when we stayed at previous condo, where the unit above rented to a new family and started making loud noises that seemed to suggest doors closing / moving chairs late into the night. Initially we thought it might be a reverberation from other units. But there was this one time my wife could no longer take it and went to talk to them nicely, asking innocently if they heard some noise from their units. To our amazement they said they heard absolutely nothing. We resorted to ask the condo security and management to check pay them a visit every time the noise resurfaces, and that usually does the trick, for a while. Apparently the unit above them also lodged similar complaints.

We are glad to have great neighbours in our new place.

I have a friend who ran into similar issues with HDB neighbours above, and after the police, HDB, TC and MPs could not troubleshoot the issue, they proceeded to seek legal redress. Still no head no tail.

Perhaps when relationships have turned sour, the true resolution for the party who can no longer can hold out, to move out.

When the dad says the kid have a brain, which is correct, i replied, does he know how to think? Thats why got this word brainless. When i watch tv at night, my vol also lower. From 12 bars to 8 n some time even 6.

Next time they make noise, i ask police come my house to verifty. Then the other goes up. If noise stopped, confirm its them. Need witness n evidence to prove them wrong, see what can they says.

I never encounter neighbour complain to me when i am silent but if my friend come to party, i did encounter police to my hse n i accept it. Got guts to do, no guts to admit, thats what i hate. I rather be the bad guy for peace than a good guy that suffer from noise by neighbour esp during morning n night time.

They purposely created more noise now! Basket them. Ghost month coming, hppes they encounter some n become crazy. Make noise at imh forever n no pme cares. Ha ha!

Install large speakers and woofers facing the ceiling and play death metal when they get too noisy

This morning, talking to my colleague. He also encounter same noise problem and even he calls the police, they took 1/2 hour to reach n by that time, the noise stopped. I suggested to him, call police come to his house, let them be the witness. Cause the owner dare not told the police that the police accuse them. Got witness, see how they going to deny. :devil::thumbsup:

I have been living with pounding/stomping noises from above, especially living room, for a awhile. Reported to HDB but useless, the HDB staff said will investigate and that's it.
Went to talk to upstairs neighbours and they said its not them, that they also sometimes hear the noise.
One day they came down to my unit and asked why i complain to HDB against them when they already said its not them (so HDB did investigate but no conclusion). We had a fruitful discussion and confirm that the noise is not from them cos when they were with me, the noise happened.
So it is strange, the noise sounds like coming from directly above but it is actually not. Dunno how to pinpoint the source of the noise.

Was told that the marble dropping sounds can also come from the expansion and contraction of the steel bars inside the floor from the morning heating and night time cooling. And also the reason why most marble dropping sounds happen at night. I think houses here don't run pipe everywhere especially across the floor in living room and bedroom where we noted the marble sound happen above us (in cold countries they do, to heat up the floor with hot water). Pipes go verticle up and down near toilet and kitchen area.

I moved 5 times, from old HDB, newer HDB and condo. Neighbours are ok so far, maybe we sleep like dead pigs at night and ears so deaf we can't hear anything few meters away. Got one case my ex neighbour moved out because he can't stand the insense smell from unit below.

My current house got a funny neighbour above. Came complain when we using hair dryer in the evening, 6-7pm, say we using industrial machine in residential area. Ask her to come in and show her the hair dryer and around the house to find any machine she suspect. Another case she complain the light from my study room affect her unit (which is above us) at night. Want to cry already.
