Just wondering what is the advantage of having a "grip". I have one for D100, I bought it because I thought it will be useful because I can have two batteries in the grip for prolonged shooting. But recently I took it off because my gear is becoming pretty heavy, and I can rely on one battery for most of my shooting.

It's supposed to be better for stability and offers you additional shutter button for portrait orientation. But i agree with you on the weight part as i often shoot for long periods. Add in flash and it's no joke. As long as the thumb muscle or back muscles are sore, i don't like it.

One of the reasons why I use D100 instead of D1X is because of the weight and size (off-course the cost also), but if you want to do street photography, the smaller and lighter camera will help.

Now a days, I do not even carry my flash (SB 80DX) anymore. I try and use the build in flash in D-100 for fill in. It works most of the time.

I look at the list and I nearly fainted, why all G lens one?? Like that I cannot use lar!

I want Nikkor Manual Lens!!
