have been using my ibook for 1.5yrs no battery problem.

when i first started using my mac, i was fooling ard with it all day long haha,, well i did quite alot of changes and installed some weird programs and well crashed it!!

but i called the customer service and they lead me thru the whole process and it did solve the problem, since then i never had any problems with my mac and loving every minute with it.

I use both Mac and Window PC.
I get frustrated at using my PC...

some programs you can look out for

Adium - for msn,icq,yahoo,aim,gchat
firefox, some webpage cannot run on safari

widgets
airport radar

http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx
can get quite alot of freewares from this website.

What messenger programs are u guys using?

I use MSN Messenger and it works fine with Mac of course. Sure you can use ICQ and any of the other popular ones as well.

Have you used the Spotlight search tool yet? It is really amazing compared to searching for files on a PC.

If you have a friend from Hong Kong, you can get it there as it's much cheaper after excahgne rates. Go check out the Hong Kong Apple website.

U can try getting a refurbished set. It's the core duo series so it's much cheaper.:)

enable double tapping and also dual finger scrolling.

get aMsn for msn needs.

coconut battery to track ur battery life.

VLC player to play all codecs

pretty much it so far from what i can think.

oh ituneshut is a pretty cool program as well.

just wondering, did your macbook come with wireless n enabled?

wireless internet? yes it does.....

how much does photoshop cost for MAC?

i mean wireless 'n" enabled

i know mine comes with a/b/g and n wasnt enabled until apple came out with the new airport express, just wondering if the new mac's have 'n' enabled already.

so i would have to pay $1.99 to enabled it.

nope i dun think "n" enabled.

I seem to have a problem with the batt. Though it's fully charged, it shows only 1 hr of batt life which i find it quite strange.

I know this is going to start a flame-war with Macintosh fan-boys, but... refund your money and buy a Vista. Just open and use, no questions asked. No problems with "one eye patch programs" too. ;)

Hahaha, just joking. Welcome to the cult and enjoy your Mac experience!

Brand new batteries properly calibrated should last around 4/6 hours depending on usage.

Calibrated meaning discharging? Another thing i forgot to ask is, the batteries not removable hor? So if i wanna use it for a long time i just plug in the adaptor? If i wanna switch it on for couple of months, with the adaptor plug in, would my batts be dead soon?

Hmm I can answer your second question,

the battery for the macbook is removable... just use a coin (or your fingernail if you have chunky ones like mine) to turn the lock disc next to the battery.

It's also really easy to swap hard drives and change your own RAM, but when buying RAM please get some advice... macbooks are really fussy when it comes to third party RAM. I couldn't figure out why some of my photos were getting screwed up when loaded them in from my camera, until the hardware test revealed a faulty RAM module (third party). Mind you, all the other programs worked fine. Swapped it out, and no problems since.

Just wondering, are you guys on Safari, Camino or Firefox? I like Camino :bsmilie:

Firefox for me!

i don't know why, i just never got used to Safari
