Looking at the supposed patent diagram, I think its highly unlikely it would have a filter mount. Though its just the glass elements design, nothing known yet about the lens body..
lol...no worries. i believe the 70-200 f/2.8 II IS will be more expensive than the current version, so on B&S, your lens will be a hit especially so when its still so new. but if i were u, i will just stick to the mark I version. its ok wad. it's served the pros well since 2001.

No worry brother. Who know when will it be launched? For the MarkII, it is more expensive. (e.g. 100mm macro). Lastly, we already enjoy using the lens.
the 70-200 f/4L IS wont be replaced so soon. it was launched in 2006. so no worries about that. theres still many yrs before the replacement comes. abt the 100-400, im pretty sure the replacement will be coming according to CR. oh man...im dying for the 70-200 f2.8 IS II...but since the price is gonna be so much higher i will have to wait til 2011. oh well, no hurry.
Stick with it. I got mine in Jun 09 and am sticking with mine. the 70-200 f/2.8 IS as-is is already capable of capturing fantastically steady pics. Until proven otherwise, i think the "improvement" in one's photography from Mk 1 to Mk 2 won't be that drastic.
