Looking forward to 100-400L mark II, remain at f5.6, but better optics, AF, HIS etc

haha very unlikely the weight will get lighter.
without IS already so heavy with IS probably another 500grams into the lens?
i will have to agree with you, but isn't it good to dream? Hee hee...

Since this is a wet dream thread. Haha...

Every thing will have a MkII - 5DMKII, 85L II, 70-200L IS II. So for 24-70 what should it be?

24-70L IS or 24-70L IS II ?

16-40/2.8 L IS ?
28/1.0 L IS?
60/2.8 macro IS?
70-300/4-5.6 IS with a real USM motor at last instead of that stupid micro-USM? something that doesn't shatter into pieces if one stares too hard at it?

If it is a 24-70 F2.8L IS, i will be seriously considering to get one.:).

It will be great if Canon can come out with an affordable UWA prime lens for non-FF camera. Something like EF-S 10mm f/2.8 will be nice.

Fisheye for crop cam will be good too. Can't believe Canon left this out for so long.

There is always the Tokina's 10-17mm FE. Great optics, solid build. I'm loving it.

or a fast prime for EF-S, something along the lines of the sigma 30 f/1.4

What?! Mark 2 of 70-200 2.8 IS?? I've only bought it this year!! But I probably won't be able to afford the new version anyway :bsmilie:

Seriously, I hope they'd update the 100-400 or add IS to the 400 5.6, give us hobbyist a better birding/wildlife lens :)

Usually Canon will price the newer version of the replaced item at a slightly lower price than the older version. So I expect the new 70-200mk2 to be cheaper then the current version.
