Anyone know how to update the firmware of a newly bought k-x?

I am looking more at those all in one zoom. Shall keep an eye on the forum. Can't wait to start shooting. Was using an alpha before that kx.


Btw airconvent I saw them too. The huge size guy and his friend. Are u working at the shop?

No lah..just happen to be there to ask something but surprised the 2 guys were at the shop for so long. Maybe its his friends. One was holding a Pentax camera

I just updated the firmware. Did it the moment I got my new kx. Just follow the website instruction.

Yup

I just updated the firmware. Did it the moment I got my new kx. Just follow the website instruction.

Great! Surprised you can still get Ver 1 these days as they indicate first few batches but its important to flash beyond Version 1 to resolve the battery issue. :thumbsup:

Felix - good English teacher. These days, they teach in "short-form"; any way to cut short by even one alphabet is ok. BTW, you can live free in China, if you promise to teach the kids English.

In my school, the P has indicated that short form is not allowed and all must be able to speak "good" English. As if it will happen hahhaha :devil:

I think my new k-x has problem leh, let's say im in marcro mode then when i press the shutter halfway and release. I saw the monitor goes like this "Macro mode >Landscape mode > Macro mode > landscape mode > Sports mode and it all happened quickly.. happened twice! :O. Seems buggy? Or am I touching anything to trigger it changing?

OT : Good practice. My English teacher would gasp if she saw how I compose these days.
Its pretty amazing Singapore is well done for being an English speaking country with primary education in English and yet so many do badly or can't write properly. Maybe they are lazy like me..haha

Let me go back and check mine. I don't normally see the display when i take photos. I suspect its just the camera trying to decide which mode to use. You are in autopict or P mode I presume?

I'm in the the macro mode when the the screen shows sports mode > marco mode and just now happened to be in Sports mode when i switched to Macro mode.
